#LostIsNotAlone

The mission has never changed.

Bring them home.

Bring answers to families.

Bring support when the road feels impossible.

That is why Texas Equusearch exists.

You can tell a lot from a moment like this.

No cameras. No speeches.

Just people standing close, paying attention, because every search has one rule: do it right.

This is the part most people do not see.

The listening. The discipline. The respect for the mission.

This line didn’t form by accident.

Every person here chose to be present.

Choose to walk the terrain.

Chose to keep looking when it would be easier not to.

This is how searches move forward. One line. One step. One purpose.

Kindness shows up in simple ways.

A phone call. A prayer. A meal was dropped off. A volunteer who says, “I’m here.”

When families are living through the hardest days of their lives, those small acts matter.

Kindness is what keeps hope alive.

That yellow shirt doesn’t stop when the temperature drops.

Snow on the ground. Cold in the air.

The work stays the same.

Because missing doesn’t pause for weather, and neither do we.

Behind every search are steady partners who work quietly and patiently.

These K9s bring focus, discipline, and trust into the field, helping guide efforts when conditions are tough and answers are hard to find.

Their bond with handlers is built on training, respect, and time spent doing the work together.

Every role matters in a search.

Every contribution helps move things forward.

Some days, the work starts before the water is calm and ends long after the questions begin.

Equipment is checked. Positions are set.

Crews communicate quietly and clearly, knowing that precision matters more than speed.

Every search is built on preparation, teamwork, and respect for the person we are searching for.

This is the work behind the scenes.

It rarely makes headlines, but it is where answers are found.

When someone is missing, compassion is what drives the response.

It is the quiet decision to care, to keep looking, and not turn away when answers are hard to find.

Texas EquuSearch was honored to be part of Mount Pleasant Avenue Premier Canine Villas & Spa’s Holidays for the Homeless project.

Volunteers came together to serve women from Ada Women’s Center, families from the Ronald McDonald House, and many others in need across Galveston. No spotlight. Just people showing up and doing good.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time, hearts, and hands. This is what community looks like.

Another body was recently recovered from Buffalo Bayou. Sadly, this isn’t rare.

Our founder, Tim Miller, reminds everyone that dozens of vehicles remain sunken along Houston bayous — many mapped by Texas EquuSearch years ago and there’s reason to believe more remains could be inside those cars.

This isn’t about fear or headlines. It’s about unfinished work. Recovery efforts take specialized equipment, funding, and coordination—resources volunteer teams don’t always have, even when the locations are known.

Families deserve answers. Closure shouldn’t be optional.

If you want to support recovery efforts, help families still waiting, or be part of the solution, reach out.

Lost is not alone.

This is where it all started.

Laura Miller’s story is the reason this mission exists.

A father’s search for his daughter became a promise to other families that they would not be alone.

Every mile walked, every map studied, every search launched traces back to her and to a love that refused to give up.
