The Run To Tuk 2023
Frenchy, Stuart, and Garret are 3 tough guys that wanted to do something special this year and support Texas EquuSearch along the way. So, they are setting out on an epic 10,000-mile motorcycle ride from the Texas Gulf Coast to Tuktoyaktuk, Canada, near the Arctic Ocean, and back. Frenchy will begin near Houston, Texas and meet up with Stuart just outside of Denver, Colorado. Garrett will be joining the team in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
These guys can’t wait to share their adventures with you all and ask that you donate to Texas EquuSearch to show your support. A GPS tracking page has been setup that will allow you to follow their progress. Be sure to follow them for updates and pics from the road!
In preparation for this trip, they have researched the terrain and wildlife they might encounter along the way. The bear density can be very high in some areas, especially along the Dempster Highway. Extra precautions have been taken to ensure their food is properly stored and they are equipped with bear spray. The Dempster Highway will be a significant portion of their journey and is also known for its slick conditions. Appropriate safety gear has been secured for rainy and muddy conditions along the way.
This trip will require a great deal of physical endurance for the long hours of riding on heavy bikes so the guys have been training for months. Unfortunately, Stuart was recently in a skiing accident and suffered a dislocated shoulder and fractured humerus on his right throttle arm. He has been in physical therapy for a while and the doctor has assured him that he will be ready to ride on his June 2nd departure.
