Rest in peace Mr. Charles Veith

Charles Veith

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, the family of Mr. Charles Veith requested Texas EquuSearch’s assistance to help locate their missing loved one. A search was initiated on Sunday, December 29, 2024, near the area where his vehicle was reportedly last seen on camera near W. Esplanade and Power Blvd. A search continued the following day and on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, searchers gathered at Laketown Park to continue search efforts. Just after 8:00 AM, Texas EquuSearch members located a body in the cove, just northeast of the boat ramps, and contacted law enforcement. A search for his vehicle continued to no avail.

On January 1, 2024, Texas EquuSearch requested Founder and Executive Director Tim Miller travel to Kenner, Louisiana and initiate a search using side scan sonar on the same body of water where Mr. Veith had been found the previous morning. Within minutes, a vehicle was located just north of the boat ramps and was reported to law enforcement.

Throughout the intake process, Texas EquuSearch learned how loved and important Mr. Veith was to so many, including family, friends, and all with whom he came into contact. We extend our condolences and continued prayers to all who know and love Charlie and pray their grief is met with love, kindness, and solace.

Texas EquuSearch would like to thank the KennerPolice Department for their support and collaborative efforts. The prompt response by local law enforcement and emergency personnel was admirable. Additionally, we thank the community who assisted and graciously welcomed us in Louisiana.

It is with great honor that Texas EquuSearch thanks the search volunteers who assisted in the search and recovery of Mr. Veith. Their relentless determination and compassion were evident from the very beginning until the end. Thank YOU for making Mr. Veith a priority and not giving up – you are the reason Charlie’s loved ones have some answers.
