This is part of the team that doesn’t need directions.

K9s rely on scent, not sight, and can cover areas that would take hours for ground teams.

They are a quiet but critical part of the search process.

Our founder, Tim Miller, is pictured with members of the Kemah Police Department and community supporters.

Relationships like these are an important part of the mission, bringing people together with a shared commitment to helping others.

Kindness may seem small, but in difficult moments it can mean everything.

A caring heart can bring comfort, strength, and hope when it is needed most.

It may look like a simple conversation beside a truck.

But this is where search efforts start.

Plans are shared, volunteers step forward, and the mission begins.

Our friend and TXEQ board member, Tom Butler, proudly waves the TXEQ flag at the rodeo parade! 🤠

It`s a true honor that he carries on from Tim Miller, who passed the torch to him. Tom has been our dedicated representative in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) parade, showcasing our commitment to the community and celebrating the spirit of Texas.

For more than 15 years, Jesse Vasquez of VAS Industrial Sales has stood shoulder to shoulder with Tim Miller in the search for the missing.

We’re deeply grateful not only for Jesse’s years of boots-on-the-ground dedication, but also for VAS Industrial Sales’ recent donation, which allowed us to upgrade critical identifying signage used during water recoveries.

Friends like Jesse are more than supporters.

They are part of the mission.

A heartfelt thanks to the San Jacinto 4-H Club of Santa Fe for choosing Texas EquuSearch as their charity.

These folks collected essential supplies to support our search efforts....practical items that make a real impact when we’re in the field.

Representing the 4-H Club were Caitlyn Edwards, Eric Edwards, and Andrea Edwards. On behalf of Texas EquuSearch, Tim Miller was joined by Kayla McAllister, Dana Tew, Al Jamail, and Allen Smith.

Because of community partners like this, we’re able to continue our mission of never leaving a family alone.

Some searches require boots on the ground.

Others require paws.

Meet the Texas EquuSearch K-9 Division, led by Brenda Peek, Director of K-9 Operations.

For more than five years, our Human Remains Detection (HRD) K-9 teams have served as a critical resource in search and recovery operations, working in close coordination with law enforcement and incident command.

K-9 Belle: 12 confirmed recoveries and extensive national training. Calm. Focused. Mission-ready.
K-9 Tsunami: newly certified and already demonstrating strong drive and confidence in challenging environments.

Behind every successful deployment is disciplined preparation, detailed planning, and high standards--the culture Brenda has built and continues to strengthen with Assistant Director Ashley Russell and team member Hanna Wingard.

This team helps us ensure we fulfill our promise to never leave a family alone.

Tim Miller recently crossed paths with our friends Monica Baynearts and Scott McCalister of Coastal Ice and Water.

Their team faithfully delivers pallets of water to support our search efforts each month — a simple act that makes a real difference in the field. Because of partners like them, our volunteers stay safe, hydrated, and ready to serve.

We’re grateful for businesses that stand with us as we continue to ensure our mission.
