Mr. Miller:
I hope you will accept this letter as a symbol of our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for you and the members of your organization, for the exhaustive efforts you all made in the search for the remains of Stacey Lynn Hazelton. You and your crew came into our county and with little, if any rest immediately jumped into the task before you. Searches of this type would be difficult, and in some cases impossible, to carry out if it were not for people like you and your staff. The experience, knowledge, and resources you bring to the aid of law enforcement and the families of victims is nothing short of amazing.
As you are aware, we were able to prosecute and convict Stacey’s murderer in December, 2006 and I am happy that he is now serving a life sentence. It still remains our desire to be able to locate Stacey and give her family the closure they need and deserve.
Although we were not successful in finding Stacey during the search conducted March, 2007 we were able to eliminate some areas and develop a plan for the remaining area. I trust that with continued effort and the assistance of people such as you and your members, we will be successful. Once again, thank you for your sincere dedication and un-selfish efforts.
