FOUND DECEASED: Gene Roberts, 45 Yrs., Dayton, TX, 11/01/09

11/07/09 — We are sad to report that the body of  Gene Roberts was found deceased this morning.  We would like to thank all of our volunteers who searched tirelessly in very treacherous conditions.  A special thanks go to the Dayton Police Department, the Dayton VFD, Liberty County Sheriff’s Dept., State of Texas Game Wardens, Special Agents with the FBI, U.S. Coast Guard,TDCJ Guards and their dogs, Kennefick VFD, Harris County Constable Precinct 3 Offduty Lieutenant, all of the civilian volunteers and the many food vendors.

Please keep Gene’s family and friends in your prayers during their time of grief.

11/05/09 — The search for Gene Roberts has been temporarily suspended until the water in the area where Mr. Roberts went missing recedes. The conditions at this time are perilous for searchers. Please keep Gene Roberts, his family and friends in your prayers.

11/03/09 — A search will continue on 11/04/09 — please report to the Command Center located on FM 1008, one and 1/4 miles east of Highway 321 in Dayton, TX, at 6:30 a.m. We need ATVs and foot searchers. Search Coordinator is Ken DeFoor.

11/02/09 — A  search will continue on 11/03/09 — please report to the Command Center located on FM 1008, one and 1/4 miles east of Highway 321 in Dayton, TX, at 6:00 a.m.  We need ATVs, horses and foot searchers.  Search Coordinator is Frank Black.

11/02/09 — Gene Roberts, age 45, was last seen on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at around 4:00 p.m. in the area of FM 1008 in Dayton, Texas.  Gene was last seen wearing a navy t-shirt, jeans and cowboy boots. 

Command Center:  1551 FM 1008, Dayton, TX.  We need ATVs and foot searchers.  If you can help search, report to the command center and ask for Frank Black or Ken DeFoor.
