Training Class for Texas EquuSearch Members — November 6 and 7, 2010

10/20/10 — The location for our training has changed to The American Legion Post 554, 1650 Highway 3 South, League City, TX 77573. Our training is now going to be a two-day training, which will include classroom, Special Operations and a mock search. We will be having class from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010. The class will cover Reconnaissance for an Active Search, Mapping, Debriefing and other important responsibilities and functions required on a search. Please bring materials so you that can take notes.

We will then break for two hours so that our members can attend the memorial service for Don “Carter” Kidd. The memorial service will be in the Chapel of University Baptist Church at 16106 Middlebrook Dr., Houston, TX 77059.

The training will resume at 2:30 p.m. at the offices of Texas EquuSearch, 3901 Dickinson Avenue, Suite B, Dickinson, TX 77539. At this time, we will break into groups for Special Operations and Advanced Training (sonar, drone, drop down camera, ATVs, horses, foot searching and GPS).

On Sunday, November 7, 2010, there will be a mock search from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The command center will be at the offices of Texas EquuSearch, 3901 Dickinson Avenue, Suite B, Dickinson, TX 77539. After the search had concluded, we will meet back at the Texas EquuSearch for hot dogs and hamburgers, and to discuss the training.
