We are deeply saddened to learn that Deputy Shane Detwiler, of the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department, was killed in the line of duty while serving his community on Monday – July 13, 2009. Even more heartbreaking is that Shane is the son of Texas EquuSearch member, Cheryl Railsback. Cheryl and her bloodhound, Ellie Mae has assisted Texas EquuSearch on many missing person’s cases. Shane was a veteran of the Iraq War, and was a very proud and dedicated husband, son, father and brother. Visitation will be on Thursday – July 16, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Eagle Heights Fellowship Church, located at 14120 Hwy. 146 in Dayton, Texas 77535. Funeral services will be on Friday – July 17, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at the Maranatha Church, located at 12319 Hwy. 146 in Mont Belvieu, Texas 77580. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go to Shane’s entire family, his friends and the law enforcement community he worked with. Texas EquuSearch members are encouraged to attend, if possible.
