05/22/12 — We are starting an immediate search for 58 year-old Jesus Chavez at 10:00 a.m. today, May 22, 2012. The Command Center will be at 317 East Woodland Street, Houston, TX 77009 — this is an open field. We need all ATVs and foot searchers who can be there. 05/22/12 – Jesus Chavez, age 58, was last seen in the area of I-45 @ N. Main St. in Houston, Texas on May 20^th 2012 at about 6:00 a.m. Jesus has some memory and mental issues that places him desperate need of his medication. Jesus was last known to be wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and house shoe-type sandals. 05/14/12 — Texas EquuSearch will be resuming the mock search with the Houston Police Department on Tuesday – May 15th 2012 at 8:00 a.m. We will be in need of foot searchers only. 05/13/12 – In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Monday is the beginning of many activities in which police officers are honored.

As part of “National Police Week”, a national police organization has chosen the Houston Police Department to host this year’s conference. And in turn, the Houston Police Department has chosen Texas EquuSearch to also play a big part in this year’s conference. Part of our involvement is for Texas EquuSearch to conduct a mock search … which will be videoed for training of investigators and officers involved in missing person cases. After editing, the video will be seen, and critiqued by many law enforcement officers and agencies throughout the United States. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s be honest. This is a really big honor. There are dozens of teams that would have done anything to be in our shoes. We will be representing Texas EquuSearch and seen by a lot of people. So it is very important that we all look sharp and very professional. Be clean shaven (unless you have a beard). We want to display the highest degree of training, skills, dedication, integrity and intelligence. We want them to have confidence and trust on our abilities.

The special mock-search assignment will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Monday – May 14^th 2012 at Houston Police Department’s Mykawa Rd. sub-station, located at 8300 Mykawa Rd. 77033, (between Belfort St. and Airport Blvd.) The GPS for that location is: 29°39’29.83″N 95°19’0.38″W. We will be in need of searchers on foot and ATVs. Please be prompt so that you do not miss any information being provided. The Houston Police Department has insisted that all Texas EquuSearch personnel must wear their Texas EquuSearch, office issued t-shirts. It is preferred that you wear the white TES t-shirts. Please wear black or dark long pants. If you don’t have black or dark pants, please wear blue jeans. But do not wear camouflage, green beige, pink or any other colors. 05/10/12 — Beginning on Friday, May 11, 2012, the Command Center will be moved to Gallman Baptist Church, 3040 West Gallman Road, Gallman, MS 39083. The search for Mrs. Reed will begin at 8:00 a.m. This new Command Center will be for Friday and Saturday, May 11-12, 2012. Please continue to keep Mrs. Reed’s family and friends in your prayers. Additionally, please keep our searchers in your prayers.

05/07/12 — Tim Miller, Founder and Director of Texas EquuSearch, is in Gallman, MS this morning to meet with investigators to determine if we have resources that they believe will be helpful in locating Mrs. Reed.

05/03/12 — Linda Reed, age 65, was last seen on April 29, 2012 at around 8:00 p.m. in Gallman, MS. She was driving a 2005 Silver Chevy Envoy, MS plate 2LREEDS. The vehicle was located around the South Crystal Springs exit off Interstate 55. Ms. Reed was last seen wearing a yellow and red shirt. Texas EquuSearch has been selected as one of 500 nonprofit finalists in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program, a major philanthropic initiative in which the automaker is giving 100 vehicles over the course of 100 days. Texas EquuSearch was selected as a finalist from more than 4,000 applications nationwide. We have requested a Toyota Tundra truck, which will be used to transport our boat, trailers, ATVs or horses. The contest has very strict and specific rules, which are detailed below. 04/10/11 — Good evening – - we have been asked by the Harris County Constable’s Office to help search for 53 year old special needs male Donald Pratt (no picture available at this time). The search will be on Wednesday, April 11th, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. Donald suffers from seizers, and it is very critical that we locate him. We need all available ATVs and footsearchers. 04/02/12 — The visitation and funeral arrangements for Devon Davis are as follows:

VISITATION:

Neals Funeral Home located at 200 South Washington in Cleveland, Texas. (281) 592-2341. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012.

FUNERAL:

Cornerstone Church located at 27453 Hwy. 105-West, Cleveland, Texas, (281) 592-2281, on Friday, April 6th. at 1:00 p.m.

DIRECTIONS:

If you come North on Hwy. 59 to Cleveland, take the Hwy. 105 exit into Cleveland. Take a LEFT under the Hwy. 59 freeway and go APPROXIMATELY two miles and the church will be on the RIGHT.

The family has requested that all Texas EquuSearch members that can, please join them at the funeral. If you plan to attend, please wear your Texas EquuSearch T-Shirt, which the family also requested. Thank you so much.

03/31/12 — It is with extremely heavy hearts that we have to report that little Devon Davis’ body was located today in lake near his home. Please keep Devon’s families and friends in your prayers during their time of grief. We want to thank all of the people from all the different agencies, along with our members who searched in very treacherous conditions to find Devon and bring him home. We want to extend a very special thank you to Gene Robinson, a long time volunteer of Texas EquuSearch for traveling from Central Texas to bring out his drone airplane, which was invaluable in helping bring this family some closure. Additionally, please keep all of the searchers in your prayers too, as this was a very emotional search for everyone involved. We would also like to thank all of the people who brought food, water and bug spray out to the search site. Those donations were very much appreciated by everyone who was out looking for Devon. We will post funeral arrangements when they become available.

03/30/12 — Attention all Texas EquuSearch Members. We will resume our urgent search for 2 1/2 year old Devon Davis on Saturday, March 31, 2012. You need to be there NO LATER THAN 7:00 A.M. FOR BRIEFING. We have an urgent need for all foot searchers only (TES Members Only), to help in the search. The Command Center is located at 11 CR 2901, Cleveland, Texas.

Directions to the Command Center are as follows:

Take Highway 321 out of Dayton. Turn east on Highway 105 at the traffic signal. Go approximately 2 miles and you will come to CR 2518, which has a 4-way stop. Turn left and go 200 yards to first CR on your right – that will be CR 2252. Turn right and travel 7.1 miles to Command Center, which is set up at No. 11 CR 2901.

Alternate Directions:

For those of you that might be coming from a different area, I am providing you with some alternate directions to the search for 2 year-old Devin Davis. My directions are only approximate, but they should easily get you there without getting lost – or driving an un-necessary distance.

Travel on Hwy. 59 towards Cleveland, Texas. Take the FM #105 (W. Southline St.) exit and go east for about 3/10 of a mile and turn left on FM 573 (S. Washington Ave.) and go about ½ mile until you come to FM 105 / FM 321 (E. Houston St.). I think there is a Walgreens Pharmacy at the intersection. Turn right (east) on to FM 105 / FM321 and travel on it for about 6 miles until you come to a three-way intersection (w/traffic light) and a Valero station on you left. Turn left (east) at light (FM 105) and follow the road for about 2 ¾ miles until you come to a four-way stop at FM 2518. Turn left (north) on FM 2518 and go about 300 yards until you get to the first roadway on your right (FM 2252 / Davis–Hill Rd. Turn right (east) and go about 7 miles until you come to the police check point. Tell the police that you have been instructed to come there by Texas EquuSearch, and they will direct you to our check-in desk.

Time is crucial in finding this 2 year-old child, so if possible, please come to this search and help us find Devon. Thank you for your help.

03/28/12 — Texas EquuSearch is en route with their sonar equipment to assist Liberty County officials in the search for 2 1/2 year old toddler, Devon Davis, who was discovered missing Tuesday afternoon. An Amber Alert has been issued for Devon Davis, who was last seen inside his family’s home in Sam Houston Lakes Estates around 3:30 p.m. When the mother awoke and could not find the boy, she alerted authorities. Devon has red hair, blue eyes, stands 2½ feet tall and weighs 30 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red and gray jersey T-shirt, jeans and was not wearing shoes. Liberty County authorities are concerned that the child may have been abducted or may have wandered away. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at (936) 336-4500, extension 0, or Texas EquuSearch at (281) 309-9500.

03/28/13 — Devon Davis, age 2 ½, was last seen on March 27, 2012 in the afternoon. He went missing from his home in Cleveland, TX. Long-Time Friend and Member, Fred Niday, Passes Away
