12/14/10 — The Harris County Sheriff’s Department has requested the help of Texas EquuSearch to search for Irene Porras on Saturday, December 18, 2010. The Command Post will be at the Kaiser Elementary School, located at 13430 Bammel N. Houston Rd. in Houston, Texas 77066. We will be in need of foot searchers, ATVs and horses. If you bring a horse, you must present a negative Coggins Report. The search will begin at 9:00 a.m. The Search Coordinator is Frank Black and his number is (713) 301-6813. No one could ever give a more precious gift during this holiday season than you returning Irene to her worried family. So, please come help search for her if you can. Please come to the old brick sanctuary in the rear of the church. We will be needing foot searchers and ATVs. Please dress and prepare accordingly for hot weather. 08/24/10 — Irene Porras, age 54, was last seen on August 14, 2010 in the area of Veterans Memorial Dr. @ Bammel North Houston Rd. It is unknown what type of clothing Irene was wearing. Irene has a large mole on the left rear side of her neck. If you have seen Irene since her disappearance, or if you have any information on her whereabouts, contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Department (Missing Persons) or Texas EquuSearch.

07/16/10 — We are very sad to report that the remains of Cristina Fuentes were located today. We want to extend a special thank you to our members for their immediate response to our call out. Please keep Ms. Fuentes’ family and friends in your prayers.

07/16/10 — Cristina “Simeona” Fuentes, age 89, was last seen on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, around 4:30 a.m. in the area of Almeda Genoa and the Gulf Freeway in Houston, TX. Cristina was last seen wearing a black flowered shirt, yellow pants and pink slippers. Please call if you have any information.

05/22/10 — Linda Hartsough, age 56, was last seen on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at around 1:00 a.m. in the area of Irvington and 610 in Houston, Texas. Linda was last seen wearing beige shorts, a pink and white top, and brown sandals. Please call the Houston Police Department at (713) 731-5223 if you have any information.

We would like to recognize all of our local members, Dennis and Tammy Watters — our sonar team, Gene Robinson and RP Flight Systems — our drone airplane team, five members of our Florida Chapter who drove 17 hours straight through in order to search for a member’s sister, Harris County Sheriff’s Department, Huffman Volunteer Fire Department, Humble Police Department, Paster Mike Martin and Deacon Grubbs, the First Baptist Church of Huffman for providing us a Command Center, Humble Civic Arena for providing us a Command Center, Doug Gray of SFI-Gray Steel for providing and flying the R-44 helicopter with one of our members, Huffman Independent School District Board of Trustees, and the many vendors who provided us with food, ice and water. If we failed to mention anyone, please accept our apologies.

01/08/10 — We are very sad to report that the remains of a body, believed to be that of Becky Hamilton, have been discovered by members of Texas EquuSearch. Please keep Becky’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of grief. Funeral arrangements will be made once a positive identification has been made. We would like to give special thanks to everyone involved in the search for Becky, and for bringing this family closure.

08/21/09 — Camilo Peter Reyes, age 32, was last seen on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 1:50 p.m. at the PLS Check Cashers, 11422 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Texas.  He has tattoos on both shoulders, a large Chinese art letter tattoo going down the middle of his back, a surgery scar from the top of his left shoulder down to his tail bone on the left side and skin grafts on both legs.

We are proud to announce that Mean Gene Kelton’s Southern Fried 4th of July event will be donating a portion of the proceeds of the event to Texas Equusearch a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization established in 2000 to aid families and law enforcement agencies in the search for missing loved ones.

Texas Equusearch founder and Director, Tim Miller, knows first-hand what families go through when a loved one is missing. Every search is dedicated to the memory of his own daughter Laura, who in September 1984 at age 16, was abducted, raped and murdered. When his phone rings at 3am with urgent news about another missing person, Tim may have had only two hours sleep but daylight will find him on a red-eye flight, or on a morning TV news show or wading through a snake infested swamp to find a lost child. Tim Miller does not delegate searches from an air-conditioned office, he goes there and gets covered in mud, sweat, insect bites and Poison Ivy to oversee the searches himself.

To date, Texas Equusearch has conducted more than 1,000 searches and has safely returned more than 300 missing children, teens and adults to their families. Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, have credited Texas Equusearch with having perhaps the highest ‘find rate’ (about 70% – with nearly 85% of these found alive) of any search and rescue organization in our nation. Texas Equusearch has grown from a small horse-mounted team to include hundreds of volunteers with four-wheelers, boats and aircraft. In December 2004, Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller was awarded President Bush’s National Points of Light Award. He has also received a Crime Stoppers Award for public service.
