The orientation and training is from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the upstairs conference room. The afternoon portion will be a field exercise, so please wear appropriate search clothing and shoes. PLEASE BRING A SACK LUNCH AND WATER IF YOU PLAN TO STAY FOR THE FIELD EXERCISE. Class sizes are limited — to register, contact Sherry McKinney at sherry.mckinney@texasequusearch.org.

Whether your resource is searching on foot, ATV, horse, boat or “Special Operations” … you are a very important part of this organization, and we thank you for everything you do.

We would like to express a special thank you to Search Coordinator, Frank Black, for all of his hard work and time spent preparing our newsletter each quarter.

Due to the economic times we are in, and the costs associated with the purchase and mailing of the t-shirts, it is no longer cost-effective for us to continue this practice. New members will receive one (1) t-shirt at either (i) new member orientation/training, or (ii) on their first search. Any additional t-shirts will now sell for $20.00. We hope everyone will continue to support Texas EquuSearch, and understand our reasons for this change.

 What do we do as members of Texas EquuSearch Search and Recovery Team?

  • volunteer in searches to help find missing persons
  • attend search and rescue training seminars
  • attend general meetings with other members
  • organize and attend trail rides, cook-offs, parades and other community projects
