CBS 48 Hours — The Killing Fields (Part 2)

Below is the second portion of the episode of CBS 48 Hours special on The Killing Fields. As noted in an earlier post, in anticipation of the upcoming movie about the Texas Killing Fields, CBS 48 Hours wanted the real story from the people who lived it. Tim Miller was interviewed by CBS’ Erin Moriarty at length. Tim Miller’s daughter, Laura, was one of the four girls found in the location known as The Killing Fields. Heide Fye, Jane Doe and Janet Doe are the other three girls found there. All four cases are unsolved, along with the murders of @ least 30 other girls along the I-45 Corridor. Additionally, 48 Hours interviewed Captain Brian T. Goetschius and Mike Land (Retired) of the Texas City Police Department, along with some of the victims’ family members. The show aired on October 22, 2011 at 9:00 p.m. CDT/10:00 p.m. EST on CBS.

Texas EquuSearch in no way supports any of the negative statements being put on any blogs, Facebook or any websites about any possible persons of interest, cell phone towers or any part of the investigation into Katelyn’s disappearance. This kind of behavior is doing nothing but hindering law enforcement’s investigation and distracting search efforts. This behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone involved in this activity will be banned from any future Texas EquuSearch searches or functions. We have one fact – Katelyn is missing.

On March 20-21, 2011, Mike Brooks of CNN’s In Session and Headline News traveled to Dickinson, TX to conduct an extensive interview with Tim Miller and some of the Texas EquuSearch volunteers. The story is three part — (i) Tim Miller’s story concerning the death of his daughter Laura, (ii) the inception of Texas EquuSearch — how we operate, and (iii) Texas EquuSearch’s involvement in the search for Caylee Anthony. Tim Miller Receives Community Builder Award from Local Mason Chapter

Tim Miller was presented the Community Builder award Tuesday, June 7, 2011 by the Clear Lake Lodge of Masons. Tim was very honored to receive this award, and we are all very proud of him. Tim would like to thank Rob Kumar of The Bay Group for nominating him for this award. We look forward to building a strong relationship with the Masons, and working with them in the future.

Sequent Energy Management presents Texas EquuSearch Sports Extravaganza Banquet and Charity Auction benefiting Texas EquuSearch. The Event will be held on April 9, 2011. The Event is being held at Campbell Hall, Pasadena Fairgrounds, 7902 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77507. Our Special Guest Star will be 7-time Pro Bowler and NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Ed Reed of the Baltimore Ravens.
