08/24/11 — The 2011 Texas Citizen Police Academy was held on August 21st-22nd at Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX. Tim Miller gave a very moving presentation, and met many new friends. After his presentation, Tim noted that Jennifer Schuett and Detective Tim Cromie from the Dickinson Police Department were going to present her story. Afterwards, he met Jennifer and they posed for a picture together (above). He was so moved by her presentation and honored to meet her. Please go to her website at www.justiceforjennifer.com to read about this amazing young woman’s fight for her life and justice for herself and other victims of violent crimes. Be sure to read her statements at http://www.justiceforjennifer.com/statements.htm. It took many years for her attacker to be caught, but the Dickinson Police Department and the FBI never gave up. We are proud to have Jennifer as one of our new members of Texas EquuSearch, and look forward to working with her.

Texas EquuSearch wants to let you know that the missing man from Monday morning’s search, Kevin Gonterman, is now on his very long road to recovery. However, we firmly believe that Kevin would not be alive today, had it not been for the dedicated, selfless volunteers – that dropped everything they were doing to go search for him. It is not uncommon for Texas EquuSearch to find endangered missing persons, but your ability to locate and get help for Kevin is what actually saved his life. Because of you, Kevin will eventually recover to leave the hospital and carry on with a normal life. It was your rapid response to the search … and your high degree of training – and sincere desire to find Kevin, that made his rescue possible. Thanks to all of you for your devoted service.
