LOCATED: Shannon Godfrey – Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana (7/4/15)

The search for 27 year-old Shannon Godfrey is now over. Shannon’s body has been recovered, and positively identified. We ask that everyone please keep Shannon’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time in their lives.

Original Post: 27 year-old Shannon Godfrey was last seen as he was being swept down the Sabine River in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana on July 4th 2015. Shannon had jumped into the Sabine River to retrieve a kickball during a family outing to celebrate the 4th of July, and was unable to fight the currents. Family members ran along the banks of the river and desperately tried to rescue an exhausted Shannon from the overwhelming currents, but Shannon went under water, and never re-surfaced. Shannon was wearing a white muscle shirt, white cargo pants and a black belt. Shannon has tattoos of stars on his shoulder, the name “Rose” tattooed on his arm and a scar on his inner left forearm.
